Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of ValueQuest (“the Service”), operated by Pathfinder Holding Company LLC. By creating an account you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of any child you add. You are responsible for your account, for supervising your children’s use, and for the accuracy of information you provide. Children do not create their own accounts and use the Service only under your control.
2. What ValueQuest is — and is not
ValueQuest is an educational family tool. XP, levels, badges, streaks, rewards, “commissions,” and any money amounts in the Service are simulated and family-tracked only — they are not real money, not a stored-value or bank account, and not a financial product. Any real payments between you and your child happen offline, at your discretion; ValueQuest only helps you record them. ValueQuest does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice and is not a bank, money transmitter, broker-dealer, or investment adviser.
3. Subscriptions, billing & refunds
Every family gets 30 days free.We do not ask for a card to start your trial and you are not charged anything during it. The 30 days begin when you add your first child, not when you create your account — so time spent setting up does not come out of your trial.
Paid plans are $9.99 per month or $99 per yearin US dollars, billed through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until canceled; you may cancel anytime via “Manage subscription,” and access continues through the end of the period you have paid for. Subscribing during your trial does not shorten it — if you add a payment method before the 30 days are up, your first charge falls on the day the trial would have ended.
If your trial ends and you have not subscribed, nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden. You keep full access to read your family’s history, and your children can keep recording their work. What pauses is the parent side: creating or changing assignments, approving work, recording payouts, and adding another child. Subscribe and everything resumes exactly where it was, including anything your children completed in the meantime. You can delete your data at any time, subscribed or not.
We may issue promotional codes that make the Service free or discounted, for a limited period or indefinitely. The terms of each code are stated when it is issued, we may stop issuing new codes at any time, and codes have no cash value.
Cancel during the trial and you are charged nothing. After that, payments already made are non-refundable except where required by law — but cancel any time and you keep access until the period you have paid for ends. We may change prices with prior notice, effective only for subsequent billing periods.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service unlawfully; upload illegal, harmful, or infringing content; access other families’ data; disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service; or use it to collect information about children other than your own.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of content you and your family create. You grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to provide the Service. We do not use it to train models, and we do not sell it. Proof photos are deleted automatically 90 days after submission.
6. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any warranty of particular educational or financial outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pathfinder Holding Company LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any real money you choose to give your children — ValueQuest tracks amounts your family agrees on, and never moves money. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Termination & governing law
You may stop using the Service at any time, and may ask us to delete your account and everything in it. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, and you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan.
8. Changes & contact
